Archives For Fun

After competing in 2 Running Races and 2 Cycling Races for kids (Old Mutual Two Oceans and PnP Argus Cycle), it made sense to introduce Stephen to the next level.

Ok; Kids, Races and the next level don’t necessary go together unless you are one of those parents wanting to breed career athletes; I am not one of those parents :O

Stephen was super keen and was thrilled to be a part of the who thing.

It was amazing, The Duo Challenge was very well organized and there were so many options and so many spot prizes, we even won an Isostar Sports Drink.

Too bad I did not get to compete myself, but I did got to run with Stephen over the 1km cycle and 400m run legs.

Who knows, maybe there is a triathlon in the near future :) after all he is doing very well at swimming lessons.

One thing I do not want to ignore is the running technique that my kids learn, so I am always concerned about what footwear they wear. At least in shoes we buy them. I do keep a watchful eye when they run and always comment on the way they place their feet. Which is easy since my son wants to always run around the garden with me; barefoot (and my daughter follows with a big smile on her face).

It was only a 1.5km but it was amazing. Stephen loved it big time.

Table MountainTime to get our game faces on. In a week; 11th November 2011, The new 7 Wonders of the world will be announced. Now I am a Capetonian (from Cape Town) and the best know feature here is Table Mountain – how awesome it would be for it to be in the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Why Table Mountain?

Well besides it being beautiful and so striking it also possesses amazing hiking trails and rock climbing routes. Of course there is the cable car. It is incredibly rich in biodiversity with mind numbing amounts and differing kinds of Flora. If you get the chance to experience Table Mountain do it by hiking up the India Window route; it is somewhat dangerous but it is also fun and a great experience. From the top of Table Mountain one can see the beautiful coast of Cape Town and it’s splendid city. It is not often that one can say that they traversed up a mountain and in joyed the view all in one day. Continue Reading…

So this is me, wearing a Lady’s wetsuit that is one size too small. Why? Because I don’t know better and neither did the shop attendant. Pahahahaha.
